Braids 2025 - Rocking Braids and Bands

The next international braiding conference, Rockin’ Braids and Bands will take place in 2025 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.    The conference will be held jointly between the American Kumihimo Society and The Braid Society at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Cleveland, Ohio from Sunday June 15 to Saturday, June 21, 2025.   More information can be found at Braids2025.com

The conference talks, workshops and other activities will be held in the Thinkam Veale and Thwing buildings in University Circle and accommodation will be provided in the University accommodation a short walk away.

University Circle is also the home to the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Botanical Garden and the Natural History Museum.  These are all within easy walking distance of CWRU.   The world famous, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a short ride away.

Cleveland is very well located in the United States on the shore of Lake Erie and has an interesting, industrial history.   It has an international airport with easy transport from the airport to the University.

If you are a full member of The Braid Society, you may be eligible either for a Bursary/Scholarship or a Travel Grant for Tutors.

BURSARY/SCHOLARSHIPS AND TRAVEL GRANTS

If you are a full member of The Braid Society, you may be eligible either for a Bursary/Scholarship or a Travel Grant for Tutors.

Bursaries/Scholarships for Participants at Braids 2025:

The Braid Society is offering bursaries to participants who have registered and paid their Conference fee for Braids 2025 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.  These bursaries will cover a percentage of the Conference fee, up to a maximum of £250, for up to 3 participants who are full Braid Society members.  The bursaries do not cover travel, accommodation, or other costs associated with the Conference which remain the responsibility of the recipient.  These bursaries are not available for Tutors at Braids 2025 who can apply for the Tutor Travel Grants.   Applications for bursaries are open and must be submitted by December 31 2024.   For full details, please download the Bursary form here

 Travel Grants for Tutors at Braids 2025 - are closed and have been awarded.The Braid Society offered travel grants to Tutors who have been accepted to teach at Braids 2025 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.  These grants will cover a percentage of travel costs, up to a maximum of £1,000, to and from the Conference for up to 5 Tutors who are full Braid Society members.  The grants do not cover the conference fee, accommodation, or other costs whilst at the conference which remain the responsibility of the recipient.
